Your TV Line-Up For the Fall

It's everyone's favorite time of year. Fall brings us changes in the weather, leaves falling, and all of ABC's ratings. Here's your guide of the best TV shows to get you through the week. (And also a few spoilers!)

1.) Chicago PD

As we enter season 4 of this hard hitting drama, there is one question on all of our minds. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO VOIGHT?! Dick Wolfe left us with the image of Erin Lindsey (Sophia Bush) leaving Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) in the middle of a field next to the silos with the man who presumably just killed his son. Followed by the rattling sound of a gunshot, which is to be assumed the gunshot that killed this man. The Intelligence branch of CPD is about to have a season of insanity following this situation. Oh and will everyone’s favorite couple, ‘Lindstead,’ finally get their happy ending this season? Please, Lord, let it happen.

2.) Grey's Anatomy

The long awaited return of SEASON 13. Last we heard, Jo had some secret marriage that no one knew about. Alex was in love with her. Mere slept with the sexy doctor. Her half-sister Maggie was into the sexy doctor. Oh also, recent tabloids mentioned the possibility of Sandra Oh returning as the one and only Cristina Yang. Will any of our questions be answered? Will McDreamy be brought back to life? Will we have another Preston Burke unexpected return? Probably not. Shonda will probably kill Kerev off this season since everyone is starting to love him, but alas, we must wait and see.

3.)Notorious

I’m heart-broken for a delay of the premiere of my beloved Scandal, however, this show may have what it takes to be a part of everyone’s “TGIT” line-up. As a journalism major, I was pumped when the show started in the building of a news broadcasting company. This show features good ole Piper Perabo as Julia George, the cunning news producer, along side the beautiful Daniel Sunjata as Jake Gregorian, a criminal defense attorney. The relationship between these two characters is one based off of how they can benefit from each other in their own professions.

4.)The Voice

Honestly, this will be the most important show of the Fall Season. With new judges, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys adding to Bladam Shevine, this season has already proved to be the most amazing season yet. THE Alicia Keys has already shown us that she is an angel sent from heaven above who can get someone on her team simply by saying “You came to this show to meet me.” Miley is all smiles and joy, bringing a young spunk to the show that many of us are beyond excited to see. The bromance of Blake and Adam is as strong as ever, but seems to be a little outshined by the dynamic between the new ladies. It’s battle of the sexes this season, but we all know who wins in that war.

With this line-up you can start your week with Adam and prepare for the weekend with Daniel Sunjata. Now let's be real, what's better than that?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
