Fall TV - 2015

The fall season - cool weather, the beautiful transforming leaves, and of course, the return of those awesome TV shows that we know and love. Like previous years, fall 2015 has a great selection of TV shows that you may or may not be watching. Here’s a rundown of a few shows that might interest you.

"How To Get Away With Murder" (ABC)

If you haven’t seen Shonda Rhimes’ new hit, then you’re missing out on a crazy one. The Peter Nowack-written show about a group of law students and their teacher trying to cover up a murder continues to provide many twists and turns with every new episode. Starring Emmy-Winner Viola Davis and a strong cast of fresh faces, it’s become a favorite for many viewers. Not only that, it’s part of the ever-growing list of shows focusing on diversity in television.

"We Bare Bears" (Cartoon Network)

Animation fans are in for a real treat with "We Bare Bears." The Cartoon Network hit by Daniel Chong is becoming popular with the kids as well as with fellow adult animation fans for its breezy, feel-good style of writing. Along with that, it’s a show that provides endearing characters and heart-warming moments instead of filling the void with brainless humor. A future classic to be sure.

" Scandal" (ABC)

A show that needs no introduction - Shonda Rhimes’ hit show starring Kerry Washington continues to stir up drama and chaos with the story of a “fixer” falling in love with the President of the United States.

"Empire" (Fox)

Fox's hit music drama about an entertainment family and their struggles within the hip hop world has become a massive hit in television. It's been acclaimed for its characters, its writing, and of course, its hip hop soundtrack. Starring Terrance Howard & Taraji P. Henson in the lead roles and created by Lee Daniels & Danny Strong.

"Once Upon a Time" (ABC)

The hit fantasy drama where fairy tale characters become reality in the world of Storybrooke is definitely one to watch for Disney and fantasy fans. Starring a great cast with equally great writing, it definitely brings a new perspective to your favorite fairy tales.

Of course, this is just a small list of fall 2015's TV hits and there's many more to watch and dive into!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
