I love watching movies. I'm not a movie critic, although I feel like that would be a fantastic job. I love movies for giving us the ability to escape to another time, to another world, to another place. Which is why I think TCM is one of the greatest TV channels. TCM launched in 1994, and the channel plays mostly classic movies.
1. TCM plays movies 24/7
TCM plays movies all day, every day. And without commercials! Most of the time, they have themed days where they feature certain actors and actresses. TCM's program "The Essentials" shows essential movies every Saturday night. Other channels might not have something worth watching, but TCM never fails.
2. Classic movies show how we've changed
It shows how acting has changed, how styles have changed, how special effects have gotten better. But it also shows how far we've come as a society. In these classics, it's rare to see an actor of any other race, and it's common for a movie to have racist or sexist undertones. We're

4. It brings families together
I love the afternoons or evenings when I don't have class or work, and my dad is watching TCM. There's always something that we can watch together, and it's something new and fun to watch and discuss and sometimes, make fun of the overly dramatic actresses.
