Thanksgiving, hence the name, marks a time in the year, and one of the only times of the year that we are allowed to sit back, relax, eat and most importantly reflect on the things that we are most thankful for. For many of you, if you’re my age, we live a crazy, college, and high-speed life. Days go by like seconds, weeks like days, and months like weeks. I find myself everyday wondering how on earth I’m almost finished my entire first semester. With these awakening moments of reflection comes a certain appreciation of holidays like Thanksgiving. It marks a time where we can be thankful for all of the parts of our life that got us here as well as the nuances of our lives in college that mark all the more great things we have in our life.
It’s one of my favorite holidays of the year. Name any other day where eating until you enter a food coma with either friends or family—it’s amazing. For me, it will mark a near reunion with my family who, because of college, many of them I have not been all together with in what feels like forever.
Whatever your Thanksgiving traditions are, whether its Friendsgiving, traditional, elegant dining, black Friday shopping, football and all else, Thanksgiving is a time to love and appreciate. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
