Taylor Swift's 22 Is Way Too Relatable.

I don't know about you, but I don't feel 22.

I’m a fan of Taylor Swift, and I have to admit that when her hit single “22” came out with a bang- I couldn’t wait to blast that anthem as many times as possible on my birthday. The day has finally arrived, and I have to admit that for the first time in my life, Taylor Swift’s lyrics are way too relatable to me. While so much of her music is full of smashing hits, her songs about breakups, makeups and heartbreaks never really hit home with me- but this song does. Here are some of Taylor’s most relateable lyrics from “22” that hit way too close to home. You rock Taylor, stay real.

"It feels like the perfect night, to dress up like hipsters."

You're Taylor. I've tried and tried to perfect this whole 'hipster" look for the last couple of years. I own a pair of large rim glasses, LOTS of flannels and I even have a tattoo. However, I have never been able to succumb to this so called Hipster culture, but every now and then I like to pretend that I can fit into this so called "hipster culture" that is going to soon take over the world (HA).

"It feels like the perfect night, for breakfast at midnight."

Taylor you are speaking my language. Pancakes are my favorite thing in the entire world,I'm sure breakfast at midnight is incredible no matter what age you are, but there is no doubt that I will absolutley being having breakfast at midnight when I'm 22- because why not?

"We're happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time. It's miserable and magical."

TAYLOR SLAYS AGAIN. There's never been a year more happy yet confusing than turning 22. I mean, what happens after graduation? How am I ever going to be able to afford a car and a pair of lululemon yoga pants (#firstworldproblems). Why do I sometimes get so lonley, even though I have the greatest friends on the planet? The struggle is real.

"Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines."

Right again. If you are/or approaching 22 than that means homework is ALMOST over, praise the Lord. What a great reminder that sometimes we have to be sponateous in order to enjoy life to the fullest. Besides, homework is SO last year.

"It seems like one of those nights, his place is too crowded. Too many cool kids. Uh-huh."

The older I get, the less time I want to spend in a humongous crowd of people and the more time I would rather spend with my close besties around a campfire, watching a movie or cooking a meal. Thanks Taylor, for a sweet reminder that less is sometimes a lot better.

"Everything will be alrightIf we just keep dancing like we're 22."

Well Taylor, I hope your advice is right, because I really like to dance. Here's to all the 22 year olds out there who never like to dance...you better start because T-swift is always right (wink wink).

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
