Ha. I bet you have already forgotten all about New Year by now. But hey, I get it. I make a list of resolutions every year, and a week into January, I have already forgotten half of them. In less than two weeks time, I will have abandoned all of my resolutions entirely. It is an endless cycle of half-hearted attempts and a countless number of failures. Setting out to accomplish a resolution is a lofty task. Here is how the cast of "How I Met Your Mother" would describe it.

Day 1: You set out on your 365-day journey of accomplishing your New Year's resolutions: more exercise, eating healthier, waking up earlier, being nicer, etc. A new year, a new you, right? In the words of Barney Stinson,

Day 2: Your spirits are high and your determination is unwavering. This should be a breeze. You wake up at 8 a.m., eat a salad for lunch and even hit the gym. You got this.

Day 3: You're still going strong, give yourself a

Day 4: So you have picked up a couple of haters along the way. Your mom doesn't think you can keep it up, and your brother is tormenting you with his constant snacking. You have been sticking to your regimen, but eating berries and nuts can only sustain you for so long. You're running on only seven hours of sleep, and being nice to people is exhausting stuff. Needless to say, you're a little on edge.

Day 5: It's ok. Brush it off and forget the haters. You're awesome.

Day 6: Alright, so today you slipped a little. You just needed to have that burger, and hey, you deserved that extra three hours of sleep and additional one-hour nap. But one cheat day is to be expected, right? Go ahead and give yourself an

Day 7: What's for lunch? Oh yeah, a salad… again… It has been officially one week since the start of your trying journey, and you can hear your stomach rumbling. You thought this was supposed to be a piece of cake. (Wait, did someone say cake!?)

Day 8: Its Day 8…

Day 9: Alright, thats it, you've had it. Enough with the early sleep schedules and the rabbit food. Why are you living like this? Who could possibly live like this? Stop the madness!

Day 10: You break.

Day 11: You don't know what Lily is saying here, but somehow, you completely understand her.

Day 12: You look at yourself in the mirror.

Hey, there's always 2017.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
