I didn't really go into 2019 with the intention of losing weight and being one of those people that say, "My new year's resolution is to lose weight and get more healthy!"
I think that should be anyone and everyone's goal ALL YEAR and every year, not just when it comes to making your resolution for New Year's. I can admit that I eat pretty shitty. Being a college student, I like convenience, and if I have an hour between classes, I'm not going to go home and make a full course lunch when I can drive down the street to Rocky Rococo's Pizza or McDonald's and just pick something up to quickly eat so I'm not starving and causing my stomach to growl during my long lecture.
I decided to get my ass into shape when I realized that fitting into jeans was a huge struggle for me. I wanted to be able to wear jeans that wore at the hip, not high waisted.
Although I do love my high waisted jeans, they're super comfy. But, I wanted to be able to feel comfortable wearing jeans and not just resort to wearing leggings all the time.
When I say my wardrobe is 99.9% leggings, I'm not lying.
I own more pair of black leggings than the average human should.
The process of getting yourself in shape and at a healthy state is more than just hitting the treadmill and running miles on end, it requires so much more than that. After watching hours upon hours of people's weight loss journeys and what they did to lose weight in months, I wanted to kick my ass into gear and show that I was capable of doing this.
I cut back on the fast food I ate, cut back on the sugars, and nowadays, all I drink is water, no cravings for juice or milk whatsoever. I even decided to go to the gym four to five times a week and work full body and cardio.
WHY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS ARE USELESS - and what you should do insteadwww.youtube.com
I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants that sculpted, perfect, slim body that'll look fabulous in a bikini, but in all honesty, it's pretty hard to achieve that and it takes time.
No magic potion or pill is gonna make it cure and melt all your fat off in one night. It just isn't scientifically possible or healthy for your body at all. Trust me, I've tried looking, nothing is gonna make the fat dissolve off of you with a snap of your fingers.
I wish it was that easy, because I want to be able to rock a cute swimsuit or a cute pair of shorts and not have to worry about chub rub and my thighs being irritated as I walk around all day wishing to sit down and cry in pain and agony (If you know, you know).
So what I'm trying to get at is, even though you want that really delicious slice of pizza, you have to tell yourself when to stop and focus on your body. Stop going to Taco Bell at 2 a.m. because it's convenient, stop going to McDonald's during lunch because you don't feel like going home and making yourself a nice salad with fresh veggies.
Make something that'll make you feel good when you're done eating it, not feeling like you're bloated like Violet Beauregard from "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory." It's better to feel good on the inside, not feeling like you're going to spend the evening on the toilet. But hey, you do you.
