A simple question asked to an elderly can start a long monologue: "Can you tell me about your life?" You can travel to World War II, Vietnam War, Kennedy's assassination, Marilyn Monroe's glamour, the Model T days--virtually anywhere. This concept of everyone's life having a certain purpose along with a distinct path, with many curves and hills, is fascinating. The more you hear about people's life stories, the more you realize that everyone's life has a purpose that will be fulfilled no matter what.
People will make decisions that they will regret and also decisions that will prove to be the best decisions of their life. But no matter the decisions or the turn of events, everyone will finally fulfill the purpose that they were born to fulfill. For example, Steve Jobs' original plan was to go to college and get a job but due to a financial crisis he couldn't attend college. But this event played a huge part in shaping his life and ultimately fulfilling his purpose. Many people think and decide that they want to do something or believe they would be perfect for some profession, but eventually life turns everything around and brings someone back to their purpose.
Most of us don't have a solid idea of what we want to accomplish in life, which works out since life is a process you use to answer the question of what you want from life. Of course we all have a general idea of what we want to do and we embark on a long journey to fulfill our wants. But the weird yet amazing thing about life is its dynamic and beautiful nature that makes it hard to predict and know where you will be or what you will do in 20 years.
