Try This To Relieve Stress

Life can very stressful as we all know, especially being a college student. I have found it very hard to figure out a healthy way to deal with my stress. Some people eat their stress away, ignore it, or try and drink away their stress. Obviously, these are unhealthy ways to deal with stress, but recently I have found a healthy way to deal with my feelings.

About a week ago, my mom gave me a pouch with 5 items in it. Each item represents one of the five senses and it has helped me so far.

As far as taste goes, I have a pack of stride gum.

As far as smell goes, I have a small vanilla scented candle.

As far as touch goes, I have therapy dough which is similar to Play-Doh.

As far as hearing goes, I have headphones to listen to my favorite songs.

As far as sight goes, I have a picture of my favorite place in my pouch.

My stress relief pouch can be taken anywhere and helps me in times of need. It sounds like a silly idea, but in the end it can really help you. All the things you need for your pouch you can find at home. At least give this try and see if it makes you feel any better. Something as little as this can go a long way. Listening to a calming song can change your mood just as looking at a picture that brings back happy memories.

Most people have a hard time dealing with stress and I sure can relate to that. I highly reccomend that everyone should make their own stress relief pouch and keep it with them often.

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
