Step stools are life.

Truths You Know To Be True When You're Short

Being short is nothing to be ashamed of, however there are many daily struggles that come with being only 5'2". We may not be able to reach everything, but our sass definitely makes up for the height we are lacking. Here are some truths that every short girl knows.

Wearing capris is not an option. They look like high-water pants.

Finding pants that are not too long on you is nearly impossible.

Trust me, rolling up your pants 17 times was not the look I was going for here.

You can't wear a maxi dress unless you have on giant heels.

Short dresses fit you modestly, so that's a win!

4th graders constantly tell you how they are almost as tall as you.

Step stools are your best friend and you have them stashed throughout your house.

You have many different techniques to getting things off of the top shelves. (Like using kitchen utensils to grab things, thanks mom for teaching me that cool trick!)

You have to move your seat all the way forward when driving (Which makes it impossible for your boyfriend to get in your car when he drives).

You can always find a boyfriend who will be taller than you

You can always wear heels and never fear being taller than your boyfriend.

You get Little's, but no one understands because you're actually the shortest one.

Everyone always asks you how old you are. Yes I really am 23, yes I know that I look 17. Yes I know that my younger brother and sister are both taller than me.

No, this isn’t a fake ID, it really is mine and I’ve been 21 for awhile now. Please stop giving me dirty looks.

You can sleep in cars and planes just fine.

You always have more than enough leg room.

Your feet never touch the ground when sitting in a chair.

You're always in the front row in pictures (which is a plus!)

Climbing on everything to get what you need is just another day for you.

My advice to all my fellow short people is to find a best friend or boyfriend who is tall to help you out with all the things the people put on the top shelves (which is very rude of them). And for all of you tall people, be grateful that your life as been blessed with a short person. We can reach things for you that are on the ground and we can get away with ordering a kids meal and a child's ticket at the movie, which makes for a cheap date. So I guess I really am the winner here.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
