Horoscopes

Are you having a bad day? Are you looking for the reason why you can't get over it or deal with the issue head on? There may just be a solution or a more common assumed solution just for you.

Statistics from upi.com show that within the last four years, horoscope readings have become more common, especially upon people ranging from ages 18-24. So, technically speaking, in the the break-up or even new relationship you're in can all be boiled down to one search right on your phone in the eyes of today's young generation.

Horoscopes used to be used to determine fate when it came to life situations or to just give a daily outlook on what a person can look forward to by the end of the day. The idea of the horoscope has definitely changed.

Horoscopes today give reasons why love either works or doesn't, advice on why a person feels the way they do on a specific day or why something occurred when it did.

The thought of one idea based off astrology being able to connect to every person in the world who has the same zodiac sign seems a bit over the top, wouldn't you say?

It's difficult to answer a question such as this when there are people worldwide who feel like their life is either coming to an end or going to be a fairy tale off of reading one perspective. Answer this: how legit can it truly be for each and every person on planet Earth?

So what does it take for people to be more realistic when it comes to their own lives?

RULE #1 : STOP FEEDING INTO THE HOROSCOPES ! Horoscopes are general, not personalized.

RULE #2 : Try to stay away from the superstition, live through your experiences and learn from them, both good and bad.

RULE #3 : If you're that concerned or tempted to know the reasoning behind what you're going through, find a relaxing hobby that can get your mind juices flowing and figure out realistic reasoning on your own.

However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
