We all have stories; we all are stories… and as much as we might want one chapter to last forever, the pages keep turning.

The day I moved out of my freshman dorm I remember thinking to myself, “Holy shit, I can’t believe that my first year of college is over” and hoping that the remaining three years wouldn’t go by so fast.

I bet you can guess what happened next. In what seemed like the blink an eye I was applying for jobs in the “real world”, toasting to the past four years and saying goodbye to some of my best friends.

I was the type of person who wanted to cling to my college days. I had lived in this perfect universe of being what I like to call a half-adult, and I suddenly felt very unprepared for the rest of my life as a full adult.

Now, with my college days a year and a half behind me, I’ll let you in on a little secret, YOUR LIFE DOESN’T END AFTER COLLEGE.

As cheesy as it sounds, it really is just the beginning. Post-grad life is so many experiences and so many emotions: it’s exciting, it’s scary, it’s always changing, but I promise it’s still fun (although you’ll probably do more day drinking than closing down the bars). You’ll have days when you feel like you can change the world - cherish those days - and days when you feel so fucking lost and small – lean on your friends and don’t make big decisions on those days.

The stories I’ll share with you are a compilation of happy-to-be-alive days, hard days and everything in between.

Here’s to trying and failing, learning and loving …here’s to post-grad life.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
