If you are familiar with Christianity, you are probably familiar with the parable of the mustard seed. If not, the main takeaway from this story is growth. The mustard seed is very small, but it grows into something huge and beautiful.

Today I heard the parable of the mustard seed and I found it related so much to my life. I think we reach a certain point in our lives where we think we know all that we need to know. We've received knowledge in all different kinds of subjects. We've met all kinds of people. We've gone to all types of places. Yet, the parable of the mustard seed reminded me that this is so wrong, but in the best way possible. Why would you want to know all there is to know? Why would you want to have met all the different kinds of people out there? There would be no room for you to grow.

Because there is so much we do not know and so much that we have yet to experience, we can still grow. We are always growing, even when we don't realize it. But it took hearing this parable for me to remind myself that God has so much in store that I can't even begin to imagine. Isn't that the best part, not knowing?I challenge you to find hope in the growth that is yet to come in your life, knowing that it will lead you one step closer to the person you are meant to be.

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
