Throughout life, there can be many obstacles you may struggle with to overcome. As we grow older, our dreams begin to change and grow and it can be quite challenging if things don't go the way you had planned for them to go. We often think that we know what is best for us, but in reality, we don't actually know. Often, we find ourselves upset with how life is going, whether that be with school, family, or other aspects of life. It can be discouraging whenever those things you want in life haven't come so far. This is why trusting our Lord's plan is the best way to meet your dreams.

In Jeremiah 29:11, the bible says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." This bible verse is one that I focus on daily. Being a college student struggling to reach my goals, sometimes I tend to worry about little things. I'll admit I worry way too much, but I have come to realize that whenever I am worrying about my future, this is the time to have faith in the Lord.

You may not know where to start, or how to ask him for help. Trusting in the Lord that he will guide use through troubling times, means you move forward with your struggles, and he will meet you half way to offer his direction and plan. Sometimes it may seem like God isn't hearing your prayers, but he is always listening. It may seem like he isn't answering your prayers because it may not be a part of his plan for you. In Psalm 37:5, the bible says "God has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand His wisdom, but we simply have to trust His will."

We need to come to understand that worrying doesn't help the situation. Why dwell on what you are worrying about when we know that our Lord is listening and guiding us along his plan? Knowing this, we need to have faith and trust that we have nothing to worry about because God is always there for you.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” This verse can tell us that taking your prayers and struggling times to God can help stop your worrying. We need to focus on the good and know that He has a plan for us.

Where you are right now has always been a part of His plan. Sometimes you may not fully understand why you are struggling, whether that be how hard school is or if you are having issues with a friend. Always remember that wherever you are today is where God has always planned for you to be. Don't rush through life, instead enjoy and take joy in where you are today.

Depending on your own choices can leave you on a bumpy road. Take pride in where God has led you because you will soon learn what it means to be happy. Whatever goals or dreams you have for the future, pray to our Lord to help guide you along his plan. You may run into troubling times, but just remember to trust in His word. He tells us that He will never leave and that He knows what's best for us.

He has a perfect plan. "Have patience, God isn't finished yet." Philippians 1:6

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
