I’m the type of person that is just waiting for adventure. I always want something new and exciting to be happening in my life and if it’s not, then I’m not content. This doesn’t sound like something that is that big of a deal, but in my world, it is. I have such a curiosity for life that I don’t want to sit still. I constantly need to be learning or exploring, and I’ve only recently began to notice that I need to take time to be still. It becomes very easy to feel like you’re just waisting your life away waiting for something big to happen, but faith in God includes faith in his timing.
Scrolling through Facebook one afternoon, I stumbled across a video about a man and a woman. They had been trying to have a child for 4 years and nothing was happening. They began to question God’s existence, like many people do after years of waiting. The opportunity to adopt arose and the couple was unsure if this was God’s calling for them. They decided to go for it, and what they discovered was amazing. I strongly encourage you to watch the video, it’s truly life changing.
By now, you’re probably thinking, “What does this have to do with your article, Chloe?!”
This relates to my article because this couple struggled with the waiting game for not just a couple months or a couple years, but for four years! Having patience is incredibly tough. We get used to having everything right at our fingertips and getting everything right away. I’m absolutely one of those people, and patience is something that I lack as well.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Timing is everything!” or something along those lines, and it’s very true. But I believe that timing is not something that is left up to the universe. Timing revolves around God. From day 1, God knew all of his plans for you. He knows exactly how your life will go and all of the good, and the bad, that will come your way. That's why we need to trust His timing. He makes no mistakes. He knows exactly what he is doing. If you have faith in God, you have to have faith in his timing.
“Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here I am.” Isaiah 58:9
I believe that God never makes us wait for something bad. His plans only hold magnificent and unbelievable promises. Cry for help, and He will be there for you. Tell Him how you feel, and He will answer your prayer in perfect timing.
“If you do this, you will experience God’s peace which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.” Philippians 4:6-8.
