Nail polish is a tell tale sign of your personality. There are people who like muted or minimal shades like taupe or creamy white. There are the people who like bright neon colors. Those that like reds, purples, pinks. Then there are those that just wear all of the colors and shades because why be restricted to one. Recently, I ordered a new shade of nail polish from a brand called Trust Fund Beauty. I had never personally tried their products but I had heard of the brand. Their brand is all about the informed consumer having better beauty. They sell lipstick, lip gloss, face wash and cleanser, highlighter and, you guessed it, nail polish. All of their products have fun names which makes it that much better.

Their products are made with care to make sure the level of toxins is as minimal as possible. They list all of the ingredients in their various products on their website, so you know exactly what you are putting on your skin and nails. The brand is vegan and cruelty-free and refers to themselves an indie company.

What about the products? Well, I had the pleasure of using the lip gloss and a nail polish. To start, the nail polish was shade “Why you mad tho?” and it was a light almost lilac shade with a twist. Inside it was a green iridescent glitter that only showed when there was a bright light, i.e. sunshine.

The formula is great but it has a weird texture compared to other brands. It is thin and you really have to build up the color. Two coats are good but I found myself having to put three coats on some nails. It was not as consistent a formula as I like, but the color is really cool. Again in terms of the texture, it goes on with almost a gel feel. If you were to touch it as it dries it feels sticky and you almost wouldn’t think it was dry.

The second product I tried was a lip gloss called “Method To The Madness.” It is a pretty color and has a sheer application. It has a little shimmer in it but not much color at all. which is why I like it. It has a nice texture on and it is not sticky on the lips. It is definitely buildable and can be worn easily over a variety of lipsticks.

All in all these are good products for what they are. While the price is a little high, $15 on average for nail polish and $22 for the lip gloss, it is definitely worth it. The nail polish has ingredients that are beneficial to your nails. The lip gloss is high quality and versatile. They also have the cruelty free and vegan status which is a huge plus for me. It is a good brand that I am excited to try more of later on.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
