It is no secret that Donald Trump has some strong opinions on many things and media is no exception. In fact, Donald Trump has declared “war” on the media. In my opinion I don't think he has truly declared war on media and here's why.

1. Donald Trump has not declared war on all media, just the media he doesn't like. He calls news he doesn't like or networks he doesn't like fake news, most infamously CNN. He has gravitated more towards conservative media, like Fox News, that agrees with him and validates what he is doing. But this hasn't stopped networks like CNN from broadcasting and continuing to cover. In an interview on CNN last week, it was brought up that the government rarely says nice things about the media. It is the job of the media is to tell the story that people need to know, which doesn't always put the government in the best light. So it's not a new concept to not have the government agree or support media, in fact it can help keep the media on their toes.

2. There is no way that Donald Trump can declare war on all media. The media is so different than what it used to be years ago, now everyone can tell the story and be apart of the news process and there is no way he can shut down what every single person has to say. People used to have to wait for big networks to get the news out but now anyone can record or photograph anything and the story is out. Our current culture is ruled by mainstream media. We can see everything at any given time really. With many apps like Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram people can live broadcast what they are doing at that very moment for all their friends to see, and people are much more likely to believe something their friend posts live. For example, for the protests some more conservative networks like fox tried to show the protests in a certain light but live feed shows the truth. This completely changes the way people see lots of events, not just protests, and that has a huge effect on how people get their news.

Overall I think that Donald Trump can speak without thinking and this is another one of these instances. I think the press will continue to do its job regardless of what he says about it.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
