To everybody who disliked Donald Trump and his rhetoric, this if for you. Also useful for Trump supporters.

I was one of the Americans, or rather one of the Earthlings for that matter, who absolutely did not want Donald Trump to be president of the United States. My Facebook page was filled with shared posts and statuses about why he should not be president from June 16, 2015, the day Trump announced his candidacy, to November 8, 2016, the most disappointing day for some of us. The main things that scared half of the world of a Trump presidency were his rallies and proposals. I'm not sure how in depth I have to go on this issue, because apparently some Trump supporters still don't see it, but it is obvious how many of his supporters partook in violent and racist actions. Here is a video showcasing this:

Yes, I know what you want to say Trump supporters, "but Hillary supporters were at Trump rallies being violent and racist too!" WRONG *Donald Trump 3rd debate voice*. These people, in most cases, were not "Hillary supporters" but rather Trump critics. In fact, most of these people probably are not even registered as "Democrat" or "Republican." In regards to the video above, you have to be completely in denial if you do not believe that a proportion of Donald Trump supporters are, in fact, racist. I mean, the Ku Klux Klan literally endorses him. This turned many people, including me, off.

In terms of proposals, building a wall between us and Mexico and forcing the president to pay for it, banning Muslims from entering the U.S., and removing millions of illegal immigrants, along with their children, by force, did not seem ideal. Not only are these actions demoralizing, but they could also bring harmful domestic and foreign economic/social impacts.

Aside from things that scared people about Trump, he has also shown many sides of him that made us believe he is unfit to be president. His lack of experience, professionalism, vocabulary, control over his emotions, and clarity around his proposals were, and are still, a bit alarming. Words like, "bigly" are not terms I want the person running my country to be using. In addition, examples such as when he expressed his anger towards a fan by saying he would punch the guy in the face, made me question if I want him being the person who communicates with leaders of foreign countries. Moreover, his plan to ban Muslims from entering the country until we "figure out what's going on" is too vague and not compelling enough to persuade anybody in their right mind. Lastly, he is literally an Internet Troll/bully (check this tweet), he has no experience in politics (running a business is nowhere near running a country), he was caught speaking extremely vulgar about a woman (GRAB THEM BY THE ____), and his wife, our first lady, dropped out of school and has pornographic nude images floating around the Internet. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF OBAMA WAS IN THIS PREDICAMENT?!?! We'll let you imagine that scenario.

HOW IN THE HELL COULD ANYBODY VOTE DONALD TRUMP OVER HILLARY?! Is what more than half of the nation, including me, asked the night of the election. A few explanations rise. One is karma: the Democratic Party purposely attempted to make sure Bernie Sanders, the beloved progressive candidate, was not the Democratic primary. Another is arrogance: Hillary Clinton and most of her supporters assumed she was going to win. BY THE WAY, this skit Dave Chappelle did on SNL was GOLDEN and very similar to what election night was actually like:

Looking back, though, it makes perfect sense why Trump was able to become president. First, let's look at education in the U.S. 70% of Americans do not have a college degree, this means that 70% of Americans are literally uneducated. Now, this does not mean that everybody without a college degree lacks the intellectual capability to understand political and economic policies at an in-depth level; however, these people are definitely less likely to critique and choose political candidates from a holistic view. What does this mean, then? AMERICANS GET RILED UP BY "Change". Obama did it in 2008. Remember his slogan? HOPE. Now, look at how many supporters Trump raked in, and what was his slogan? MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. What was Hillary's slogan? I'M WITH HER. I'm with her? Are you serious? You really think you are going to convince the average and, for lack of a better word, uneducated U.S. voter to vote for you with that slogan?

Looking back, Hillary's campaign and merit was based on her continuing what Obama was doing, adding a few progressive aspects, and being the better candidate because, well, look at all of the stuff I mentioned above. You can't blame her, I mean most higher-education folks, including me, looked at his campaign as a joke. But in order to gain votes, you need to look at what attracts most Americans. When looking at this election's voters, a huge percentage of those who voted for Obama in 2012 voted for Trump. And, I'm sorry for offending anybody for continuing to point this out, but the fact is that many of his voters were uneducated. THE PEOPLE WANTED CHANGE! And Hillary did not offer that. I voted for Hillary because I realize that no change is better than a change in the wrong direction with Trump, but many Americans will not settle for this. Like my celebrity mentor Robert Reich said, the Democratic Party needs to do a better job and create a better candidate.

Well, as crazy as it sounds, Donald Trump is our president, so should we be scared. I say no. Nevertheless, I can understand why people would be scared and why they are rioting. I mean, never mind Trump, just look at everything Mike Pence, his Vice President, has to say about certain issues. The guy actually believes in discrimination against the LGBTQ community. LGBTQ folks, immigrants/families of immigrants, and minorities have every right to be scared. Anybody saying these people are not justified in being scared and angry is WRONG *Donald Trump 3rd debate voice*. The LGBTQ community might get their rights taken away and families of Mexican immigrants might get their family members taken away. THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY AND SCARED. This is why articles like this (CLICK HERE) are wrong.

However, all of my brothers and sisters that are scared and angry at the result, DON'T BE SCARED! THERE ARE TOO MANY OF US.

My advice is this: we are not in the 1960s. Minority groups are not the only ones fighting for their rights. Remember, Hillary won the popular vote. This means that most Americans are actually against the things that Donald Trump proposed that threaten the rights of certain groups. If Donald Trump, or Mike Pence, try to do anything such as making gay marriage illegal or removing every single illegal immigrant by force, there will literally be a social uproar of more than half of the nation demanding that these things do not happen. It might be the first time in history that members of Congress have to literally change their mind because the people of the U.S. will not stand for it; U.S. citizens might even physically force members of all branches to not pass whatever immoral act it is that they are trying to pass. Martial Law will not work either; there will be far too many people.

I hope none of this happens, but I'm just trying to show you that there is no reason to be scared. Nothing insanely oppressive will happen under Trump, the people will not allow it.

As of late, Trump has even expressed a change in his viewpoint on certain topics, which I am very confused by. Maybe he is trying to calm the riots down. However, I would like to hope that he purposely fooled the entire Republican Party and is pushing an opposite agenda, which would be a dream come true. I mean, he even said he might not repeal ObamaCare, and, though still questionable, his plan to deport illegal immigrants has softened up a bit too.

The main thing I'm frightened about is Trump's view on climate change. Climate change is real, it has nothing to do with politics, and it threatens our lives and many generations that follow. Hopefully, Obama or somebody can talk him into taking climate change serious.

I still do not really like Trump, but I'm optimistic about the U.S. and I hope his plans will work for the greater good of this country. I'm still signing this petition, though (Which you should too). It might give Hillary a chance of getting elected through the electoral college changing its mind. However, if it doesn't work, I won't be mad. (SIGN IT THOUGH: CLICK FOR THE LINK).

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
