A Break-Down Of Trump’s Presidential Speech To Congress
abc news

Tuesday, February 28, 2017, President Trump delivered his first presidential speech to Congress. During his speech, Congress was divided by the proposals Trump was declaring, half of the room filled with Congress would be standing and applauding rapidly, while the other half would sit their in despair pointing their thumbs down to the ground. Trump was very persistent about how he wanted democrats and republicans to stand united together. “If we are guided by the well being of American citizens, then I believe republicans and democrats can work together to achieve an outcome that has alluded our country for decades,” Trump states.

The President claims he wants all Americans to succeed, but if our society is out of order and in rapid chaos, then that cannot happen. He speaks to the fact that if we secure our borders, then the drugs will stop entering our country. Trump says he wants to provide assistance to those who are addicts to drugs, and help them retake their life and sobriety back. “We must restore integrity and the rule of law at our borders. By finally, enforcing our immigration laws, we will raise wages, help, the unemployed, save billions and billions of dollars, and make our communities safer for everyone,” states Trump.

The President proposed to Congress that he will be building a monstrous wall to keep out borders from now allowing any illegals and drugs into our borders. “We must restore integrity, and the rule of law at our borders. Our obligation is to serve, protect, and defend the citizens of the United States,” states Trump. When it comes to healthcare, he plans to get rid of Obamacare and replace it with a better more affordable healthcare plan. He is also not forcing any Americans to purchase healthcare, but to have the option off an affordable one if they wish to. He spoke upon the fact that in order to change the high poverty rates, which directly correlates with the increase rate of violence, especially the murders of citizens has increased extremely over the years; 2017 has a higher murder rate than the past years, Trump claims.

Dealing with victims of violence, Trump and Homeland Security have collaborated together to create an office entitled VOICE(Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement), this office is meant to be a place to support the victims of violent crimes. The name of this office basically is its purpose as well, it is giving the opportunity for victims to have a voice in a place where no one listened to them before, and ignored them completely.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
