In the aftermath of Trump's fiercely negative Republican National Convention diatribe, many of us stand amazed at Trump's lack of candidacy and fearful for the General Election — probably with a headache, too.
Once Ivanka stepped away from the microphone, Trump guided his audience through an almost dystopian America rife with crime, hatred and despair. Trump simply asserted he'll be America's avenger. There was little "how." There were no optimistic or humorous asides. There was no hope for the future. There were no unifying or uplifting remarks.
It is true that America is at a critical point in history. Huge policy reforms need to be made to ensure our country's well-being and prosperity. But, we cannot allow an angry man like Trump to scare us and strip us our election season of joy and camaraderie. If we do, we will splinter in exhaustion rather than coalesce and fight for positive change.
Humor is an essential part of any battle. Laughing at ourselves and poking (appropriate) fun in difficult situations helps maintain moral. If we can enjoy the fight, we're more likely to endure it.
So, for fun, I decided to play "Trump Yourself." In this social media game that Hillary Clinton's campaign website released on July 21st - strategically right before the Republican National Convention - users can juxtapose their Facebook profile pictures with fun graphic filters inspired by Trump's various insults towards people.
