Politics are in full swing this summer with the election this fall, and one candidate seems to be very polarizing amongst our nation. Donald Trump, reality TV star, and businessman is a polarizing figure who is constantly in the news for his bold and brash views on immigration and gay marriage. His supporters see him as the guy who will, "make America great again". His opposers see him as nothing short of the anti-Christ. A rookie when it comes to politics, Trump is determined to defy the odds and becomes our nation's next great leader.
One main reason that, "The Donald" is so polarizing is his brash, often condescending attitude towards foreign nations. Trump has been quoted saying, "I'm going to build a wall... And I'm gonna make Mexico pay for it!" If that isn't bold, I don't know what is. He glues people to their TVs, either to see his speeches and laugh, or see his speeches and shake their heads at what could drive someone to be so insane. He is the top headline on CNN, Fox News and just about every major news channel out there on a daily basis.
He truly believes every word that he says, and for some, that is a scary proposition. He has had numerous people call him out on it, including moderator Megyn Kelly. Trump's infamous spat with her at the GOP debate this year is what made many voters turn heads at his overzealous attitude. He has made many enemies with news media and personnel, and many people wonder how destroying that, "bridge" will turn out, if elected President.
Another reason Trump is so polarizing is his charm and bravado. He has a lot of followers just due to his charismatic nature. Love him or hate him, he has a good personality for TV and he seems to win over a lot of people who watched his TV show, The Apprentice. There are some that wonder whether Trump's lack of political prowess will be the downfall of this nation if elected. That's a very fair point, one that Trump seems to dodge and twist every time it comes up. Clinton has had numerous years in the political arena, and that might just be enough for people to vote for her, over the inexperienced Trump.
He doesn't pull any punches when it comes to talking about his opponents either, whether it was the Republican debates or his verbal spars with Hilary Clinton, a nominee from the Democratic Party. Whether you love him or hate him, one thing is for sure: Trump won't be getting invited to any quinceaneras anytime soon.
