Trump Is Not The End

The harsh reality of this election season is that our world has been turned upside down. A multi-billionaire is now the president-elect, and the nation is in an uproar. The United States of America, which was once the world’s powerhouse, is now the laughing stock of the world- the village idiot.

How have we come to this point? How have we slipped so far down the slope of lies that we believe that Donald Trump is the end of this nation?

Donald Trump is not the end. He is a person- a single person who does not have enough power to ruin an entire country. So why are people in such a flurry of anxiety and worry?

The short answer to that is the lack of faith that our nation has in our Creator, but it really goes much deeper than that. Our nation was founded by a group of men who placed their faith in God…not in money, or world power. They did not hope to succeed in their own doings, but put their hope in the One above.

In God we trust…but do we really? Is this phrase exemplified in our nation, or is it just a motto?

There has been great unrest in our country. Though one might think it has to do with racism, or sexism, or bigotry…these are not really the issue. The most serious problem that our country currently faces, and has faced for a very long time, is the lack of faith that we have in God, our Heavenly Father. He is the only source of true joy and hope and peace. Without Him, our world will fall, and is falling, to the lies that we are fed by the enemy.

In the end, it will not matter what your sex is, what the color of your skin is, or who the president is. The only thing that matters, and will ever truly matter, is placing your faith in the One who created you, and growing in your relationship with Him. Eternity awaits at the end of this troublesome time on earth, but the only way to receive this eternity as your own is to place God above your worry and your anxiety.

God will not let our nation fall to one man. He will not abandon nor forsake us.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
