How Dare You Claim Donald Trump is the Godly Choice in This Election

To the Christians Voting for Donald Trump:

Ephesians 5:11-12 says, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.”

As followers of Christ, we are not simply called to have nothing to do with acts of evil and injustice. We are also called to expose those acts. We are to shine a light on the darkness. We are supposed to call those deeds of darkness by their name and not allow them to be carried out in our presence. The Gospel does not waver on this point.

The word of God does not say to overlook deeds of evil and hope someone else stops it. It does not say to excuse evil because we have seen it before. It does not say to choose the lesser of two evils because it could be worse. The Bible most certainly does not say to condone it. It says quite clearly to call evil by its name and expose it for what it is. There is no question at all, whatsoever, on this point.

You can vote for whoever you would like. This is America and that is your right. But how dare you claim Donald Trump is the Godly choice in this election.

He mocked a disabled reporter at one of his campaign rallies.

He has claimed a judge was biased and could not be trusted to make a lawful decision simply because he was a “Mexican.” This was only one of several offensive comments he has made about minorities, by the way.

He was recorded alluding to what amounts to gleefully sexually assaulting women in 2005. He has called numerous other women pigs, sluts, and other terrible names.

He has shown himself to be anything other than the “Godly” candidate the entire duration of his candidacy. In Mark 12:31 Jesus told his followers, “The second [commandment] is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.” Loving your neighbor as you love yourself does not include publicly ridiculing your neighbor, judging them based on their race or ethnicity, or treating your female neighbor like property. It means treating everyone with respect and dignity. Donald Trump has no clue what loving your neighbor even means. His actions have shown that, over and over again.

Donald Trump is not the “Godly” candidate this election cycle. How dare you try to claim he is, when there is a veritable mountain of evidence revealing Donald Trump as the complete opposite. Your assertion that he is the "chosen one" only serves to further confuse the lost in the world who need to know the real love and redemption that can be found within Christianity. The truth of Donald Trump is plain to see, whether you want to admit it or not.

As a Christian voter you have two options. You can choose to have nothing to do with the fruitless actions of Donald Trump and call them out for what they are; distasteful, disgusting, and repulsive. Or you can keep telling yourself that the Jesus you follow is as hateful as both you and Donald Trump seem to be, which is the biggest lie of all. The real Jesus is the man from Mark 12:31, or John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Vote for whoever you want. This is America and that is your right, but don’t you dare claim Donald Trump is the Christian choice in this election. He is the furthest thing from it and the evidence is clear.

He may be your choice, but Donald Trump is not the Godly choice.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
