I believe I can speak on the behalf of the general American population when I say that this year’s presidential race is an absolute circus. While Donald Trump can be thanked for the majority of the mess that has been made, he is not the only clown in this game of politics. On the democratic side, we’ve got Hillary Clinton doing and saying whatever it is to corral Americans to vote for the ex-first lady, flip-flopping her views to boost her voter count. As it seems thus far, Trump and Clinton are the front runners for their respective parties, giving Americans the impression that it will indeed come to Trump versus Clinton on the final deciding ballot. And if you ask me, both options are terrifying.

Trump has proved time and time again he is undeniably racist, misogynistic, sexist and an all around bigot. His political success is the result of demagoguery, the same tactic used by Adolf Hitler during the rise of Nazi Germany. Rather than providing solutions to the real problems Americans want addressed and resolved, Trump loves to play the blame game and provide people with non sequiturs to avoid the question.

While I am lucky enough to never have met anyone who genuinely supports Trump, I am curious to know what a Trump supporter can tell me about his policies. This man seems far too focused on objectifying his daughter, scapegoating Mexicans, tweeting about his fellow republican candidates like a 16-year-old boy who has had his masculinity challenged and flaunting his billions to a population of people who will never come by a hundredth of just one of his. I have yet to hear about how Trump will indeed "make America great again," or how his business expertise will allow the average American to be able to live more financially comfortable. We’re going to need something more than "I will be the greatest jobs president that God has ever created."

Hillary Clinton’s past is one that she would rather you not bring up because any time someone does, she usually ends up apologizing for what happened. People say "well, politicians change their views all the time," and while that may be true, it seems as though Clinton's have changed when it was most convenient.

For example, in 2013, Clinton publicly showed her support for same-sex marriage, but this only came after a decade of opposing it. Or that time she stated, "I mean, if we’re honest, for a lot of well-meaning, open-minded White people the sight of a young Black man in a hoodie still evokes a twinge of fear." How open-minded is she really? Clinton will find time to change her Twitter icon in celebration of Kwanzaa, but must escort Black Lives Matter activists away from her rally. #WhichHillary, a hashtag that surfaced recently questioning her fluctuating views and hypocrisy is the epitome of Clinton's campaign. People will say Clinton is the best traditional politician in the race and they couldn't be more right. Clinton is excellent at morphing her views and changing her politics to fit the bill of the majority, but why should we settle for more of the same? While she has been able to provide supporters with proposed plans for the future America, who knows which Clinton we will get in office.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
