Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton Do Not Deserve to be President

Donald J. Trump and Hillary Clinton are clearly unfit to be the next President, and it is saddening to say the least

This presidential race makes me sick. It is absolutely disgusting. I am unable to escape the media lunacy that is the 2016 presidential election.

In one corner we have the criminal and crooked Hillary Clinton. She may seem politically apt to assume the office of the President, but, I would not trust her with being my class president, let alone the President of the United States of America.

In corner number two we have the heinous, terrible Donald J. Trump. This man is a sorry excuse for a person that cannot and will not stop running his mouth, spitting insults, and spouting lies long enough to have anyone take him seriously. These two sorry excuses for presidential candidates have led me to make one very bold claim: Neither of them deserve to be the next President of the United States of America.

The media has come an extremely long way in the last five years. The advent of social media outlets such as Twitter, Vine, and mobile media apps have forever changed the way political elections are held. This year, every single thought that Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton have had for the past 12 months has been put out onto the internet for the whole world to see. Each thought is instantly scrutinized and debated to no end, inevitably ending in the people of the internet insulting one another simply for agreeing with something.

Some of Trump’s greatest hits include snippets about Mexico building a wall on the border and countless insults against women, minorities, and many other groups. As for Mrs. Clinton, her campaign has been an endless battle against her email scam, and her many lies in her past, including the Benghazi and her trouble when President Bill Clinton was in office.

After hearing ceaseless barrages against both candidates, as well as support for each, I am unable to put my faith in either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.

The President of the United States needs to be someone that people can trust, not someone that lies about war conflicts and has had government emails stolen due to negligence. The President of the United States should also be someone that is tolerant and understanding, not someone who brazenly insults may different groups while not caring whether their “facts” are right or wrong. The President of the United States should be someone that is honest, yet tough; someone that is ready to face adversity, and not lie their way out of it. The job of President of the United States does not belong to either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, and I wish more people in our great country saw that. Instead of choosing the "lesser of two evils," citizens need to pick a proper candidate for the Presidency of the United States of America.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
