With Fall beginning, we begin planning on what places we want to visit for the next vacation. With so many places to go see, how do you pick just one? There's so much to consider when planing a vacation; is it a lot of hiking, are you going visit museums or art exhibits, do you plan to do both, what do you even do while on vacation? While the plans are still unclear of what you would like to do, here's some truly amazing places you should consider visiting.

1. The Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef and contains an abundance of marine life and even has over 3,000 individual reef systems. When visiting this breathtaking beauty, you can enjoy experiences including; snorkeling, scuba diving, aircraft or helicopter tours, bare boats (self-sail), glass-bottomed boat viewing, semi-submersibles and educational trips, cruise ship tours, and so much more.

2. Antelope Canyon, Arizona, USA

A quick side note, that is how the typical scene in Upper Antelope Canyon looks like. That is 100% real, that is not a painted picture. This is one of the most visited slot canyon in the Southwest because it is easily accessible and the most publicized. The price for entering the park and visiting the Canyon might be a little steep compared to other parks, but it would be absolutely worth it.

3. Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

Within this heavily forested national park, there are 16 crystalline lakes that flow into each other through a series of waterfalls and cascades. There are wooden footbridges and pathways that snake around the edges and across the water. It takes about six hours to explore the lakes on foot, but you can slice two hours off by taking advantage of the park's free boats and buses which depart every 30 minutes from April to October. If you don't want to spend six hours hiking, the upper lake section can be completed in about two hours, and then the lower section takes about three. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed at the lakes, but it is still an amazing view.

4. Venice, Italy

Venice is the perfect city for travelers who are seeking a unique city experience. There are canals that run through similar to roadways which are a wonderful way to see the beautiful city around you while traveling. Some great spots to go to are; the Rialto Bridge, Teatro La Fenice, Saint Mark's Basilica, and Gallerie dell'Accademia.

5. Highlands, Iceland

For years, the interior of Iceland was basically inaccessible, now the mountain roads Kjölur and Sprengisandur and the untouched wilderness of Iceland's mountainous centre is currently open to the public. They suggest cautious exploration by foot or 4x4 vehicles during the summer months. I won't go into too much detail about this because a lot of the names are pretty hard to explain, but one of the best attractions is being able to see the northern lights, which are absolutely spectacular.

Of course, there are endless possibilities to go out and visit, I personally loved seeing Banff National Park in Canada. But these were just five spectacular places to consider visiting in your lifetime. Some are probably more pricey than others, but they are definitely worth seeing.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
