True Love Prevails

A simple poem for the Heart

462
True Love Prevails

Wouldn't it be nice

If more Love existed

That hate would decease

And the world be less twisted

I long for that day

That day that will surely come

When we discover a land of peace

Where we all rejoice as one

One family of trust

A bond of no judgment

Oh wouldn't that be nice...

Can you even imagine it?

I know I can.

In fact, there is such a place

Where Love is full of truth

Where Love is full of grace

If home is where the heart is

Then where do you reside?

Is Love at the center?

Does it make you come alive?

I don't know about you,

But it's hard to find it here

This world is so dark

Filled with so many tears

So where is our home?

Shall I dare we fix our gaze

Beyond the clouds of glory

And into the gates of praise

Where there is no suffering

Where there is no pain

Where we can be free

And have nothing to gain

My heart longs for this

This home of peace and Love

It's grown weary of the world

Can it only rest up above?

The time has come

For our hearts to grow

To reach out to the lonely

And to let everyone know

That they are deeply Loved

By their very own Creator

For He Loves us so much

That He gave us a Savior

Do you want to know the secret?

True Love did survive

It came through a death

A death brought back to life

Love came into the world

But we did not understand

So we rejected true Love

We thought he was only a man

But although he was beaten

Although he was bruised

He carried that rugged cross

To carry on the good news

The good news is this

True Love is alive

And his arms are open

Yes, they are open wide

True Love is a man

And this he will always be

So won't you let him in?

Will you let him set you free?

Oh won't you run to him?

He longs for your embrace.

If you are looking for Love,

Just look upon his face.

You see, Heaven is my home

But have you ever thought

That it's where we all belong

The price is already bought

As I have walked this path

This path of everlasting life

Something I have discovered

Is that His Love excludes all strife

Heaven may be above,

But we carry it within

If we confess that He is Lord

And lay down every sin

So take a leap of faith

Before life passes you by

Or it will slip away from you

In just the blink of an eye

I may be walking blind,

But I'm convinced that I can see

His presence is so thick

His warmth is wrapped all around me

Some say he is invisible

But, friend, this is not true

In fact, he is everywhere

He is all around you

So why not call him Friend?

And why not call Him Father?

Why not call him Darling?

Why should you even bother?

For only then will Love prevail

You see, He is the only way.

So take a hold of Jesus,

And he will take your breath away.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

Here are some "Parks and Rec" moments that relate to life struggles that just about everyone faces.

April Ludgate

April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation is notorious for her "I don't care" attitude. She speaks her mind without caring what anyone thinks of her. Fans love her because she isn't afraid to be herself. April can seem cold and negative, but she's really just fearless and strong-minded. And despite her sometimes harsh words, April truly cares about the people she's closest to. These are all reasons she is the epitome of a college student. April complains whenever she has to do any kind of work, but ends up doing the work anyway. April Ludgate is the ultimate college student spirit animal.

11 Ways To Live The Best Life You Can

Life is full of twists and turns, but you have to keep going.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
