What's the best part of the holiday season? Family? Friends? Presents? Charity? How about FOOD?! Here are five things that every holiday food lover understands:

1. You can’t wait to look up dozens of amazing cookie recipes and try them all. Forgot the neighborhood Christmas cookie party, you plan on sampling all of them yourself. Gingerbread, chocolate, orange and zesty lemon, they are all fair game as long as you get to try at least one while baking.

2. Appetizers are the best thing at any party. For some reason, people enjoy putting the most delicious flavors into very small bites. This means you’re going to have to eat at least five of any given thing, maybe ten, in order to fully appreciate the deliciousness.

3. Family feuds over who had the best secret recipes may ensue. Grandma’s apple pie versus Aunt Ruth’s cherry could come to blows.

4. You look forward to Christmas dinner for 364 days. There are special dishes that are only prepared on this festive cheery day, and you kind of wish that was not the case. That said, it’s what makes it more delicious because nostalgia is a powerful thing.

5. Everything tastes just a little bit better with peppermint. Peppermint brownies, peppermint mochas, peppermint bark, the list is truly endless. It’s the one time of year one type of mint is considered acceptable so make sure it goes in everything.

People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
