The True Life Of A Retail Worker

Four words that best summarize the retail industry: The struggle is real. If you have ever worked as a sales associate in a retail store, then you've basically seen the gates of Hell. Was that a hyperbole? Probably, but in all honesty, things do get bats*it crazy, and this line of work is not for the weak.

1. Starting your shift in the midst of all Hell breaking loose

2. Watching customers try to open the doors after closing

3. When customers try to give you mad attitude

4. Getting called in on your day off

5. Having your newly folded clothing be destroyed right before your eyes

6. Mood all day, every day

7. Holiday season = death

8. When customers start referring to you by your name

9. "Do you work here?"

10. How you feel right after an exhausting shift

11. When you get asked stupid questions

12. When you find all kinds of nasty unmentionables in the fitting rooms

13. Realizing you sold your soul to the retail life

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here.
