True Life: I'm addicted to Thrift Shopping
One of my favorite articles of clothing is my Columbia jacket. It looks brand new and everyone compliments it. What people don't know is that I bought it from Salvation Army for only $15. Growing up, I was always ashamed of buying my clothes from the thrift store just because I thought it was embarrassing to others. I saw everyone wearing name brand clothing and I didn't have the luxury of spending $150 on a jacket that would only last me a year or two.
Fast forward to college and now i'm officially broke and definitely cannot afford name brand items. My best friend these days is the thrift store because they have everything you can think of! I've gotten materials for clothing to make my own halloween costumes, sanders for when I REALLY needed them, and sometimes (if you're lucky) you can find name brand items, even with the tag still on! If I had to choose between going to the mall or thrift shopping, I would totally choose thrift shopping any day!
