Each day in this sort of listless lighting, there is conjecturing across this squared flecked plane, while simultaneously they bound and play, small figures dressed in bright colors or uniforms. Blades and blades of grass between us, so many, yet only a leaf in comparison to the oak tree of humanity, the great sprawling lot of us all just trying to "make it." The ripe enterprise saunters and plays and this world is both most within them and most apart from them.
We are the lucky, we are the privileged. The college kids, the intellectuals who must go and do, we came from all over, from all spots in this life, above, below, north and south. Here the we sit, striving and gesticulating, harboring within in this intellectual forum our grand seeking yet also billowing in the dictionary’s coat tails while sun - total openness - nothing is shaded and they run and are and just be. Truth and the answer to the questions we ask are answered in their heaving chests and young laughter and true abandon.
However, where we sit is where they are told they would be lucky to sit.
Life and origin and purpose is the shamrock debate, all three connected, and these seasoned minds, so full of potential, so sitting upon the brink, try to pluck one from the other to understand the rest - while, bouquets of understanding seem to be in the arms that are open and free.
However, where we sit is where they are told they would be lucky to sit. This is not false; they will return inside to prepare themselves in an effort to sit where we sit. Some will, some will not. Some should, some should not, for there is blessing and luck to be in so many different places in this world; however, my point being:
There is this sort of invocation for a streamlining, a union of the two mentalities. More than to just keep youth close to the heart, but to truly retain that sensibility of what is living, what is important, and to channel mindfulness into not only -brain power- but the lens for pure living, pure loving of the present moment and of the orchestra of painted autumn leaves that all people, all ages are.
