15 Things You'll Relate To If You Are A Real Coffee Shop Person

I didn't realize until this year that I am truly a coffee shop person. Something about studying in a warm and cozy coffee shop just makes my heart happy and my mind productive. I am blessed to go to live in a place with a myriad of coffee shops for different niches - industrial, eclectic, warm, bright, drive-thru - and I am slowly getting around to trying them all. With that being said, it's a rare thing when I haven't spent the day with coffee in hand.

1. You know the menu by heart

Especially your order, which you have down to a science of course.

2. And the secret menu, too.

Because sometimes you need to mix it up.

3. Studying there for hours is easy

During finals, I spent 4-7 hours at the coffee shop and only realized how long I had been there once the Baristas started to close up.

4. You live for the coffee shop aesthetic

If there's a cute coffee shop in a friend's photo, it's only a matter of time before you check it out too.

5. And it doesn't matter how far a new coffee shop is, you'll be there

20-minute walk? Easy. 30-minute drive? Nothing. 2-hour flight to another state? I can't say that I haven't thought about it.

6. You have your favorite spot

My go-to seat at my favorite coffee shop is in the corner by the window in front of the wall outlet. It's lovely.

7. When your friends ask to go get coffee, you know all the best places

Along with exactly what to order upon arrival.

8. You know and accept you spend way too much money on coffee

It happens.

9 The baristas know you by name

And your order.

10. Seasons are defined by the drink you order

January to February - skinny vanilla latte or medicine ball tea, March to May - iced matcha green tea latte, June to August - iced coffee with milk, September to October - pumpkin spice latte, November to December - chai tea latte or peppermint white hot chocolate. Y'all get the picture.

11. You recognize other customers at your usual coffee shop

I'm on a nod-and-smile basis with most everyone.

12. Road trips and new coffee shops go hand in hand

Driving home from college isn't complete until I have an iced wedding cake latte from Common Grounds in Waco.

13. Getting more than one drink a day isn't unusual for you

Sometimes it's just one of those days.

14. Keurig coffee never quite lives up

But if we're being honest I'll take anything.

15. If you're drinking coffee, it's going on the 'gram

Add a Bible or a book to the picture, blur the background just enough, and come up with a cute caption - you're golden.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
