What Does It Mean To Be "True Blue" Through And Through?

Let’s face it, Georgia Southern University isn’t only the 2014 Sunbelt Conference Champion… it’s also the greatest university in the world, at least in the opinion of every single devoted Eagle here in Eagle Nation.

Being “True Blue” means that:

…you scream “WHOSE HOUSE?” at the top of your lungs at every football game regardless of how obnoxious you look, just to remind the opponent that “OUR HOUSE” is a force to be reckoned with.

… Erk Russell is more than just a former coach of the Eagles to you. He’s a legendary figure who remains at the heart of Georgia Southern.

… Gus isn’t just the name of one of Cinderella’s mice -- Gus is the official Eagle mascot, with more school spirit than any of the Sunbelt’s other mascots combined.

… “The Plaza” isn’t some fancy upscale hotel-- it’s a place known for celebrations --- victory after victory.

… no football game is complete without “Freedom’s Flight”, and you’re forever touched by the moment Freedom flies over you at your commencement ceremony.

… Appalachian State is the one team you will never find yourself cheering for, and you have participated in the famous “App State” chant.

… Georgia State is a joke, and in the end we all know who the REAL GSU is – and they aren’t Panthers.

... Eagle Nation is your home away from home, and being surrounded by your Eagle family is one of the best feelings ever.

In the end, being “True Blue” means that you’re loyal to the bone, you bleed blue and gold, and no matter how many times you have professed your love for Georgia Southern -- you are always ready to do so… “ONE MORE TIME”.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
