It's Time Troy University Fixed The Horrible Attitudes And Food Quality At SAGA

All of the money we pay for a meal plan, and this is what they try to serve us?!

I like it here at Troy University, but the meal plan that I chose sucks. It's the Cart Blanche with 25 flex dollars and all the SAGA swipes. As a freshman, I had no idea which meal plan would be the best because I obviously don't know much about Troy. My parents really encouraged it because they liked that I wouldn't run out of food. I had heard bad things about this specific meal plan, but I chose it anyway.

They served us food at SAGA during our orientation sessions, but I never had food that good again.

Once I got to school it was decent for the first two weeks, and then out of nowhere everything tasted terrible. I remember I went to SAGA for breakfast, and one of the cooks made me an omelet. That omelet was loaded with so much oil that it fell apart and was now scrambled eggs. Imagine wet looking eggs swimming in a puddle of oil, that is what my eggs looked like. They soaked the omelet in oil and then threw even more on top. It was disgusting.

And on top of that, the employees there have TERRIBLE attitudes.

As I am in line waiting for my Trojan ID to get swiped, I hear the worker literally complaining about how all of the students get on her nerves and basically how she hates her jobs. I usually thank everyone for serving me, but that day I could only manage to give this woman a look of disappointment. I'm sure working at SAGA is in no way a glamorous job, but there's no reason for them to have the horrible attitudes they do. I've had jobs that I disliked, but I made the best of it. I know these people can too, and if it's just that awful, it's time to find a new job that better fits their work needs.

I always feel cheated on my meals, too.

One day, I was STARVING. The line to get into the dining area was wrapped around the room, so I waited like 45 minutes to get some food. I finally get to the front, and the cook puts one tiny piece of meat onto my plate. I asked for another piece, and the cook refused to give it to me. They say your meal plan is unlimited, but it doesn't feel like it when SAGA gives a college student a serving size of a 4 year old. At this point, I was done with SAGA. I honestly though starving would be a better option than eating there or eating out because I just couldn't deal with this anymore.

If you can, avoid SAGA. There is NOTHING good about eating here.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
