I'm not boring, you just don't have an imagination.

So I had commented on an Instagram post by E! News last week, which was a quote from a tweet that Chrissy Teigen had posted that said, "I haven't dated for a long, long time but are guys really pulling the whole 'let's be exclusive' thing six months into dating, like what, I have been exclusive what the f*ck have you been?" My comment said, "Say it louder for the men in the back who like to waste my time."

Little did I know this comment would get over 4,000 likes and comment after comment from female strangers who decided to show their support and comment their similar feelings on the matter.

Out of all those comments, one was from a man who had said that I'm probably playing games.

Initially, I was a little bit offended, to be honest, but then I had to tell myself that this person doesn't know me nor do I know him and I shouldn't be offended by an ignorant comment from an Instagram troll.

He had sent me a DM and what started off as a civil discussion on the subject turned into me getting fed up and annoyed by his opinion on dating and relationships. He had told me that it's probably my fault that I'm single and that I'm probably the boring one in the relationship because I don't go clubbing or party every weekend. He told me he expects his girlfriend to want to go out with him every weekend. While everyone has their preferences, I told him that he shouldn't expect his girlfriend to be anything but loving and respectful to him.

There's more to life than getting plastered every weekend and staying out until 5 a.m. He didn't really like that comment and had said that we're young and we need to make memories with our significant others as a team and not just go to the movies or Disneyland or dinner. I don't know about you, but going out to dinner, movies, or Disneyland sounds like a really fun time to me. Everyone has their own idea of what's fun to them, but to me, those sound like great options.

Apparently, me liking these activities makes me "old." If I'm old for having an imagination, for having an adventurous side or for being creative, then I must be the coolest "old" person ever.

So, to the Instagram troll, you go enjoy your nights outs. I hope you find a girl who doesn't mind that you have certain standards and expectations that they need to live up to. I also hope your girl doesn't mind that you troll women on Instagram and talk down to them like they mean nothing.

In the meantime, I'll be here, waiting for Mr. Right and when I find him, we will have the best time going to Disney or staying in binge watching our favorite TV show.

Thank you, next.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
