Vengeance Falls is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Trivium, released on October 15 in US via Roadrunner Records. It is the last album to feature second drummer Nick Augusto before he had departed from the band in May 2014. The album contains elements of heavy metal, thrash metal, and a sprinkle of metalcore.
This album features:
Matt Heafy – lead vocals, rhythm guitar
Corey Beaulieu – lead guitar, backing vocals
Paolo Gregoletto – bass guitar, backing vocals
Nick Augusto – drums
David Draiman – producer
David Draiman definitely influenced Trivium as shown by the more straightforward heavy metal sound with more simplified song structures. It reminds me a lot of when Metallica did the same thing on The Black Album. The album's strengths are its extremely catchy guitar riffs and solos, its excellent choruses, Heafy's terrific vocals, and the production. The weaknesses is that the album can be a bit repetitive at times, but other than that, this album has no glaring weaknesses.
Top Five Tracks:
1. "Strife"
2. "Through Blood and Dirt and Bone"
3. "Vengeance Falls"
4. "Villainy Thrives"
5. "No Way to Heal"

My Verdict:
Vengeance Falls is a great album with a lot of groove and melody throughout. It may not be Trivium's most technically impressive album, but the album's tight song writing and great production more than makes up for it.
