Fire Island is located on the South point of New York State. We took the bus on that day which was a Sunday. After about a 20- to 30-minute ride, we arrived. Then we transferred the ferry to the island. It was so beautiful on a sunny day. Fortunately, it was not a rainy day which frequently happens in New York in the fall. Water is also as blue as the sky. Sunshine eroded our skin but it did not stop us from taking photos on the ferry.
Then we took the ferry. About 10 minutes later we arrived at the destination. Several tour guides from the island welcomed us and explained the details about what we have to pay attention to on the island. Definitely, there were so many insects and bugs here and there that we have to be careful to avoid being bitten.
Walking into the forest, it was still too hot. There was a path filled with sands, and grass was on the two sides. We took off shoes and walked on the sands even though the sands were burning our feet. After a long path, we got into a shady path. Some of the people walked inside while I and some others stayed in a small house and enjoyed the simple lunch and were greeted by the local people.
The couple heard we were from different countries, but most of us were from East Asia, especially the greater China. Then he took out China and Taiwan's flags and raised them. We tried the hot dog barbecue. That was not nice, honestly, but thanks for the lunch provided.
We then walked along the path and headed to the beach. We saw some stores when we were almost arriving at the beach. I then tried the ice cream. It is expensive to spend seven dollars on, but pretty great. After reaching the beach, it was just a beach. The sands were white and reflective. Nothing else in our horizon in addition to the sea. We sat down and ate some snacks, took some photos, and had a conversation before leaving.
