20 Basic Halloween Costumes You'll See On Halloween

It's that time of year girls live for: fall. From pumpkin spice lattes, to Instagramming pictures of leaves (#artsy) and finally wearing nothing but leggings, it's a basic girl's dream! However, nothing is more important than celebrating the best holiday around, Halloween.

As accurately stated in "Mean Girls," "In girl world, Halloween is the one night of a year (or three nights at Marquette) when a girl can dress like a total slut, and no other girls can say anything about it."

Girls try to get creative when it comes to their costumes but realistically, most of these end up falling under the basic category.

Here is a compiled list of the top basic costumes for girls that'll knock your Uggs off.

1. Disney Princesses

We all dreamed of being princesses growing up, but now, it's a reality, and it's never ending.

2. Angels and Devils

I get that putting on some white or red clothing is easy but it's a little overdone.

3. Sexy Nurse/Cop/Firefighter/Army Girl

You have the right to remain basic.

4. Schoolgirl

Ah yes, reliving high school by pulling out one of your old skirts.

5. "Risky Business"

Stealing a guy's shirt and wearing booty shorts? Nothing gets more basic than that.

6. "Where's Waldo?"

Can't find a costume more basic than this.

7. Mario & Luigi

What a great power duo, too bad it's a little overdone.

8. Thing 1 & Thing 2

Retweet.

9. Hot Nerd

What a SMART costume, but you didn't calculate the basicness.

10. Sailor

Basic Level: North Face and Uggs.

11. Miley Cyrus

You can and should stop this costume from happening.

12. Three Blind Mice

Group costumes rock but maybe something a little more original would be better.

13. Indian

Only slightly overdone.

14. Hippie

Woodstock should stay in the 1960s.

15. Rosie the Riveter

Feminism rocks, but maybe try channeling another strong woman, like Beyonce maybe?

16. Minnie Mouse

A dream is a wish your basic mouse ears make.

17. Superhero

#Unimpressed.

18. Starbucks

Basic Level: pumpkin spice lattes.

19. Cowgirl

YEE-how about no.

20. Sexy Animal (Cat, Mouse, etc.)

We get it, you're a mouse, duh!

As basic as these costumes are, one of these will definitely come in handy this Halloweekend. To be completely honest, it's all for the Instagram likes anyway. Remember kids, have fun and stay #basic.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
