Once in awhile throughout history, a pioneer is born. This happened in the late 1990's with a particular electronic dance music song by the late Robert Miles. Robert Miles was born Roberto Concina, and due to being Swiss/Italian will go on to shape the genre. Why are we talking in the past tense? Well, sadly Robert Miles passed away this past week due to a battle with cancer over nine months.
Thus, as an electronic dance music fan, it only seems fitting to write a tribute to a man who shaped the genre and trance genre for generations. As mentioned or if you have done your research, you will know that the track "Children" release would bring electronic dance music to the forefront of the music industry in the 1990's, and well the rest is truly history. Ask any fan where they were the first time "Children" hit the airwaves, and you will quickly realize it sparks memories.
Once the news broke, the outpouring of love from those in the industry to the entire dance music community has shown the respect he always needed. Miles' best known tracks continue to grace sets through remixes and reconstructions illustrating the importance of creativity in music. The best thing to do is to thank this man for his melodies and beats bringing electronic dance music to the masses!
