July 20, 2017 was a hard day for rock fans everywhere, as the lead singer of Linkin Park had been announced as dead. He committed suicide and has left six kids, a wife and a very large fan base behind to mourn.
Since I am a very big Linkin Park fan, and have been since the very beginning, it only seemed right to make a tribute to him, if only in a small article. For this article, I posted on several social media sites in order to take a poll of the top ten songs by Linkin Park. Keep in mind that this might be different for everybody, but after about 500 submissions to the poll, this is what I have come up with:
1. "In the End"
2. "Breaking the Habit"
3. "Numb"
4. "Heavy"
5. "Leave out All the Rest"
6. "What I've Done"
7. "Given Up"
8. "Faint"
9. "My December"
10. "Nobody's Listening"
Those are the top ten songs that were voted for the most, but in remembrance, here are two encore songs that also ranked very highly.
Encore 1. "Be Myself"
Encore 2. "Bleed it Out"
Chester Bennington will surely be missed by millions of people. This just goes to show that no matter how much fame or wealth one has, it's no match for mental illness.
Please do not let his death be in vain, if you or someone you know is struggling with mental illness, please seek help. Linkin Park will forever be an amazing band, and Chester will forever be a legend.
Fly high, brother.
