Fashion is a way for people to express who they are without having to communicate. As Pharrell Williams has said, “fashion has to reflect who you are, what you feel at the moment, and where you’re going.”
Having grown up in the suburbs of Chicago and now attending school in San Francisco, I have always been surrounded by uniquely different styles and ideas. And because of this, my eye for fashion and knack for predicting future trends has strengthened.
Since San Francisco has become my home away from home, I wanted to shine the spotlight on some of the iconic outfits and pieces that I have seen around the city!
1. High-Neck Bralette
This high neck bralette has intricate lace and mesh details that can help upgrade any layered look. The accessory can be worn to add flair to a casual outfit or can be used to create a fierce going out look. These undergarments can be found anywhere; Target, Free People, Victoria Secret, American Eagle, Revolve. But the specific floral lace and mesh bralette pictured is from Victoria Secret and the white plain tee is from Brandy Melville.
2. Girls Night Out Look
This classy yet sleek party look is made up of an elegant crossover skirt from Zara. It allows comfort, since it’s a skort, and has a touch of sassiness due to the bow belt. The tucked in white tube top from Urban Outfitters also adds a refined look that illuminates the skirt perfectly. This flawless pairing creates a jaw-dropping outfit that nobody can take their eyes off of.
3. Sassy Casual Look
This outfit is a mix of funk and comfort that creates a perfect casual day outing look or even just school attire. The spunky plain black palazzo joggers from Aritzia are serene and highlight the cropped statement flower tee from Free People. This stylish pairing gives a sensation of repose and sophistication.
These outfits and trends show character and bring out personality. Like Simon Doonan states, “Conformity is the only real fashion crime. To not dress like yourself and to sublimate your spirit to some kind of group identity is succumbing to fashion fascism.”
So be yourself, dress fashionably and stay classy, San Francisco!
