12 Trendy Halloweekend Activities For The Introverted College Student

In This Article:

It's finally fall, which means it's spooky szn and pumpkin spice latte time. For the introverted college student, there are many fun activities to do that don't involve partying it up on Halloweekend.

Pumpkin patch.

Nothing reminds someone of October more than pumpkins. For a fun time, students should consider going to a pumpkin patch and picking pumpkins. It's a fun and low key activity.

Pumpkin carving.

Pumpkin carving is a popular fall tradition for many families. It's super fun to create different designs and faces for pumpkins. When it's done, you can show off your artistic skills to friends.

Apple picking.

For those who love the outdoors as well as food, apple picking is a great activity. I personally love caramel and candy apples, so I would love to pick apples and then caramelize them.

Watching movies.

If you're a '90s kid like me, you have fond memories of watching Halloween movies on Disney channel. "Hocus Pocus," "Twitches," and "Halloweentown" are just some of the classic fall movies we grew up. Kick back with some nostalgia and spend a night watching spooky favorites like "Coraline."

Get lost in a corn maze.

Corn mazes are cool. They're super fun, and it's like the ultimate escape room challenge. Plus, it's a super kid and family-friendly activity, perfect for a nice day in the outdoors.

Go on a hike.

With the leaves changing to beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows, it's a perfect time to go for a hike. Now that summer is over, the air is crisp, the temperature in that perfect medium between too hot and too cold. Seize your chance and go for a hike, either in the majestic Shenandoah Mountains or JMU's lovely arboretum.

Bake a pumpkin or apple pie.

Studies have shown that baking is good for your mental health. It's a relaxing activity that results in delicious food. Therefore, do your mind and your stomach a favor by baking a pumpkin or apple pie.

Drink hot cider.

October is the time when it gets colder out, and hot spiced cider is perfect for this weather change. Therefore, make some hot cider!

Go to a haunted house.

Haunted houses are a fun pastime for Halloween season. Let yourself scream and get lost. After all, finals season is coming up, so haunted houses are a perfect excuse to scream your frustrations out.

Learn to knit.

With winter soon approaching, the weather will only get colder and colder. A relaxing skill for new introverts to learn is knitting. Knitting is therapeutic and relaxing. It's a perfect activity for the grandmothers at heart. Plus, you get to make super cute and warm scarves, hats and sweaters!

Pick up a book.

Nothing is more relaxing than lighting some candles, getting in bed with a mug of cider, and reading a book. College students are often loaded down with various projects and readings. Picking up a book to read for fun is a great way to relax and kick back. Plus it's good for your brain.

Roast pumpkin seeds.

Not sure what to do with your leftover pumpkin seeds? Don't throw them away! Instead, put a little salt on them and stick them in the oven. Roasted pumpkin seeds are a delicious fall tradition.

Fall is a great season. With the weather getting cooler, it's a great time to get in the Halloween spirit.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
