Before traveling abroad, there are a lot of decisions that one has to make, including choosing who you are going with. The usual decision is to study with one of your school's programs or to travel with a group of your friends. Although you know that that would be an incredibly fun experience, going with someone you have known for your whole life, like your sister, is arguably even better. Not only are you able to go into the experience completely as yourself, but you are able to grow as both an individual and with your sister. Though it doesn't even come close to all of them, below are 20 reasons why.

1. You know your sister going in, so you won't be stuck with anyone you can't stand, which could potentially ruin your time abroad.

2. If you get in a fight one day, you are over the whole thing by the next.

3. She won't get too offended when you joke around with her because she knows your sense of humor.

4. If you meet your soul mate while abroad, you have someone to back you up to the rest of the family since your sister has already met that person.

5. You won't have to worry about being judged for your weird sleeping or eating habits.

6. She knows your best angles for that Insta of Facebook post.

7. There's more clothes to share!

8. Homesickness will be more bearable because you have part of your family right there with you.

9. There's someone that knows your parent's phone number by heart in case a "Taken" type situation happens (not that it will).

10. She's there to remember all the memories you might have accidentally forgotten.

11. You have a permanent wingman when going out on the town, who also knows your perfect type.

12. Your sisterhood is a great conversation starter.

13. Figuring out the dreadful check is never a stressful situation since the money is all coming from the same place.

14. You come from the same family, so you at least share similar tastes in food and appetite.

15. The two of you can take turns calling family back home and sending postcards.

16. When the culture shock starts to hit you, there is someone there who knows what you are going through and will support you.

17. Being your quirky self comes naturally since you are already comfortable around your sister.

18. There's no standing around awkwardly when you are out at a bar since you'll always have your sister with you.

19. When you get back home, there is another person to answer the same million questions that you are bound to be asked.

20. The trip will not only create lasting memories that you can look back on years from now, but you two will grow closer together as you share the experience together.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
