Tips and tricks for getting through an airport like a pro.

Traveling With Ease

How to travel with ease, aka, how to get through TSA security and the airport without a hassle.

As a frequent flier, traveling across the country for school, here are some tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.

  1. Before going to the airport make sure you’re following all of their rules (especially the no liquids or gels over three ounces).
  2. Have your ID and boarding pass out and reading to be confirmed with the TSA agent.
  3. Wear shoes you can take on and off with ease. When you go through their security checkpoint taking off shoes is a must.
  4. While we’re talking about feet, make sure to wear socks! Who knows how dirty the floor gets.
  5. If you’re wearing a jacket, take it off before you get to the X-ray machine. It makes for efficient use of your time in line.
  6. Make sure you wear a belt that is easy to take off for security or wear something that does not require a belt.
  7. Travel with snacks! Airport food is ridiculously expensive and TSA doesn’t have any restrictions of actual food (just liquids). Some of my favorites to travel with are beef jerky, protein bars, goldfish, and something sweet.
  8. You can bring an empty re-usable water bottle in your carry on!! Then you can fill it up from a water fountain once you are past security and save money on buying water in the airport. And you can ask for a cup of water in flight and use that to fill your water bottle
  9. Always be prepared for a delay. Make sure you bring a book, puzzle, computer, tablet, handheld game device etc. to pass time between the expected delays. And don't forget chargers and headphones!
  10. Never pay for airport wifi. Most of the time it is slow and you'll end up just using it for Facebook.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
