Traveling the world can broaden your horizons and make new experiences that could define you and bring you tranquility. While traveling to London, I was able to understand the culture and diversity a trip across the pond could give me. When we first arrived there I was in no mood to learn different history or try new foods but after finding new friends, I was able to open up to different philosophies and arts. Voyaging to the U.K. made me realize how truly patriotic but also lustful of the life I have and the one I could have there. The more open opportunities and exclusive cottage towns with sweets shops down the road made me covet the lifestyle of some British, but my home town brought me back to why I live where I do. Traveling is, in my opinion, the best way to appreciate the world we live in and the beauty of tomorrow.

Learning new philosophies of life and different world views help us understand and resonate with the one we want to portray. Either listening to the churning your own cheese or devoting countless hours to prayer, we must accept variety and varying humanities and lifestyles. Visiting nearby or far away cities can help us achieve this. I believe acceptance, love, and peace are the best thing we can bring into this world and negative, unappreciative energy can destroy dreams and emotions even far away. Traveling lets us explore different souls, cities and surroundings for new loves, lives, and environments. We can learn the importance of traditions and the excitement of new ones, from pouring tea on cracked clay to killing the beast of the feast, we all take part in rituals we would want to share with the world so why not try new ones today.. With the ever-growing fear spreading across borders, it seems like people are less likely to leave their safe space because of extremists trying to destroy happiness. By traveling we can start the beginnings of a new, loving world and create a more compassionate society to grow in.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
