It honestly makes me sad to see younger people deprived of the joy of traveling.

While I haven't traveled far and wide myself, I've still been to some amazing states in my country and I'm even about to fly to Ireland by myself for 2 weeks.

I'm scared as hell to do it all on my own, especially since I've never been outside of the country, but I know that it'll be so worth it to see a side of the world I never have before.

I think traveling is so important.

It opens your eyes up to new places, new people, new discoveries, new everything.

I truly think that you can learn more by traveling than sitting in a classroom could ever provide for you.

Every time I've traveled, I came back home with a more open mind than I had before. I felt enriched and was eager to get back out of my comfortable space and explore more than I ever thought I could.

So, I encourage you to travel while you're young. You most likely won't have a better opportunity to do it than this point in your life right now.

Even if it's a small road trip to the state next to yours, or as big as flying across the country. Travel with friends. Travel with your college abroad. Travel by yourself. Just travel.

Get a passport. Fill it up with new places.

Seriously, get out there and explore. It'll leave you better off than you were before.

And don't have any regrets while you do it.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
