Sure, you could Google "things to do in Cullman", or you could have a local's guide. Here's six things you must do when you visit:

1. Ave Maria Grotto

The Grotto is part of a four-acre park and is known as "Jerusalem in miniature"; it was the work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey. Although it started as a hobby, the Grotto is known worldwide and people visit from all over to see the 125 miniature reproductions of famous historic buildings and shrines of the world.

It's open everyday (except Thanksgiving day, Christmas day, and New Year's Day) from 9am to 5pm.

For more information about the Grotto (including its address), check out the website.

2. The All-Steak

Originally opened in 1934, The All-Steak is a must-visit restaurant located in the heart of downtown Cullman. While known for its famously delicious orange rolls, the All-Steak has a variety of good southern cookin' for you to choose from; trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Hours are: Tuesday- Thursday: 7:30am to 9pm; Friday and Saturday: 7:30am to 10pm; Sunday 7:30am to 3pm; Closed Monday.

3. The Warehouse District

The Warehouse District is one of my favorite places in Cullman. It's the home of Rumors Deli and numerous boutiques and my favorite coffee shop, Karma's. Here you can find almost everything you need to make your heart happy; I'm convinced it's the reason for the phrase "shop 'til you drop".

Hours vary for all stores. For more information check out: http://www.visitcullman.org/

4. The Duchess Bakery

If you've ever been to Duchess Bakery, you know it ain't got nothin' on Krispy Kreme. If you're longing for a delicious doughnut, plan on getting there early so they're still warm and gooey; plus you'll get the best pick.

Hours: Tuesday thru Saturday: 7am to 4pm; Closed Sunday and Monday.

5. The Busy Bee Cafe

The Busy Bee Cafe is a local favorite that has been open since 1919. It's open for breakfast and lunch during the week and it's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the weekend. I also hear it's the best place in town to get an old-fashioned hamburger.

Hours: Monday thru Thursday: 6am to 3pm; Friday and Saturday: 6am to 9pm; Closed Sunday.

6. Cullman County Museum

The museum was once the home of Cullman's founder, Colonel John G. Cullman. Here you can explore a civil war exhibit, the native heritage room, the music room, and main street- which shows you a glimpse of what Cullman shopping was like in the 1800's.

Hours: Monday thru Friday 9am to 4pm; Sunday 1:30pm to 4:30pm; closed Saturday and most major holidays.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
