Nobody makes a chicken sandwich quite like Chick-fil-A. Well, actually, anybody with a chicken patty and a bun could probably make a sandwich that would taste just as good. Chick-fil-A may be an overly conservative company with prejudiced values that may make you never want to eat there again, but still, the combination of their delicious chicken, along with their signature waffle fries, is something hard to rival, homophobic tendencies aside.

Chick-fil-A seems to have just about taken over the market when it comes to fast food chicken restaurants, making the restaurant a go-to place for all things chicken. However, eating at Chick-fil-A does not always turn out exactly how you might expect it to, and sometimes a mere desire to have chicken for lunch can turn into a traumatic experience that may take years to recover from. Here are 5 traumatic experiences that can indeed happen to you while eating at any Chick-fil-A restaurant location.

1. Only getting 11 nuggets in your 12-piece meal

Apparently, Chick-fil-A employees don't know how to count, because this happens more often than you might think. Missing an entire nugget in your meal can take you down a dark, miserable road of self-destruction. You may never be able to trust another person again, because if you can't trust your fast food establishments, then who can you trust? When you first receive your meal, make sure to count the pieces before eating any of them. It may be the only way to save yourself.

2. Getting your order without the employee saying, "My pleasure"

As any Chick-fil-A frequenter is aware, the employees are supposed to say "my pleasure," after you place your order with them. If you don't hear this phrase, you will begin to question everything about yourself. You will begin to ask yourself, was it me? Did I not deserve the sacred phrase of Chick-fil-A? Was it not the employee's pleasure to take my order? Will anyone ever love me? If you don't hear "my pleasure," you will never be the same again.

3. Forgetting to ask for Chick-fil-A sauce

There is something simply magical about Chick-fil-A's signature sauce, appropriately named Chick-fil-A sauce. In fact, it just might be the one thing distinguishing Chick-fil-A chicken from other chicken items. Chick-fil-A employees generally ask if you would like any sauce, at which point you can claim your delicious Chick-fil-A sauce to accompany your chicken. However, it is possible for them to forget to do this, which could lead you to forget to ask for it, which could logically lead to a theoretical situation where you have obtained a meal from Chick-fil-A without any Chick-fil-A sauce to go with it whatsoever. This is a truly haunting experience, one that it may take you years to come back from.

4. Jesus suddenly talking to you

Chick-fil-A has gained a reputation as a conservative and Christian company, leading to controversy in the past. Due to this highly holy and religious environment, you may suddenly and mysteriously start hearing the voice of Jesus talking to you as you wait in line at the restaurant. I mean, normally hearing the thunderous voice of the almighty Lord and Savior wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but waiting in line at Chick-fil-A isn't exactly the ideal time for a reunion of the soul. This may force you to step out of the line and then engage with Him in a debate regarding your own religious viewpoints and feelings about the afterlife. It's important stuff to discuss, sure, but all you wanted was a chicken sandwich. Debating your own mortality can wait for later.

5. Ordering a deluxe chicken sandwich but receiving a regular chicken sandwich

It seems as though some Chick-fil-A employees have selective hearing that makes them unable to hear the word "deluxe," leading many patrons to order a chicken deluxe sandwich but receive a regular chicken sandwich once their name is called and their order is obtained. Expecting a sandwich with cheese, lettuce and tomato and then receiving one with only pickles is a devastating experience that will make you unsure whether you can carry on in life. It's not something you ever want to go through. Trust me.

Controversial viewpoints, delicious chicken, and traumatic experiences. That is essentially Chick-fil-A in a nutshell. Be careful next time you go to eat at this establishment because if you're not careful, you could find yourself facing a horrifically traumatic experience that you may never recover from.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
