We always imagine what we wish our future would be like. Some of us go for fame, recognition, financial wealth, happiness, contributing to the world and most importantly, the feeling of fulfillment that we all so desire.
People have their own fantasies living in their brains. Sometimes, we criticize ourselves for daydreaming so much, but we just can't help it when the thoughts feel so good, you wish they were true. After thinking about it, maybe we brush it off and say, "maybe one day," or we blame ourselves for not being there and start reminiscing about the past. Regardless of what state our thoughts and imaginations bring us in, they are forgotten a few minutes later, only to be rekindled again and the cycle repeats.
As all of this is happening, we rarely take the time to observe our thoughts, ideas, images, and visualizations in our heads from a distance. We rarely take the time to understand their existence in our minds and what they mean to us, where they come from and how we can make them grow to improve our lives. When we understand where each thought comes from, we can allow ourselves to be free from being impulsive, reactive and from constantly being pulled in every direction.
A common thought we have is the assignment due today or a test coming soon, do you notice how you feel or what happens next when this thought resides in your mind? Does an influx of relating thoughts spawn from that one thought? Do you see your emotions declining? Ask yourself, how is this thought affecting your performance right now? If it's affecting you negatively, treat your thought like someone you care about and ask, 'how can I make you feel better? What can I do to improve you?'
See, sometimes we can take things for granted. We label and categorize things as insignificant or worthless, but everything and anything can and will be more than what you perceive it to be. Think about Elon Musk. Does he not rely on his thoughts, imaginations, visualizations to make his dreams into his reality? In our society, we deem a thought as unimportant and inconsequential. A sound inside of us that does not amount to anything because it's not physically here, it doesn't physically change what's in front of us.
So many people we look up to achieved what they wanted because they transformed their thoughts into a vision. Once their vision was clear to them, the actions they had to take also became clear to them. We tend to do things without having a vivid and detailed clear vision in our mind. The next time you dream about something, imagine, or visualize yourself becoming, delve more into it. Understand that it's just a thought, but once you give it detail, once you expand it, make it clearer, it'll start to shape and take form into your reality.
