After time spent indulging in food and putting off thinking about daily semester stressors, it can be difficult to regain your work ethic in the university setting again. During the fall semester, a break so late in the semester leaves you with little time to make moves very far beyond where you were before the break started up. Working out issues you are having now, will save you from sending a distressed email on the study day, or even giving up on certain aspects of the coursework. The sooner you brain starts working on older material as well as still taking in newer material, the better success you will have on your exams and papers.
This is not the time period that you should fall down on eating habits and lose sleep. This is the time to fuel your body with the nutrients and rest that it needs to act and create within the final days of courses and the exams that follow suit. Working bit by bit on these factors of the end of the semester will keep you from the big binge of studying and cramming within the one and only study day and last week of exams.
Enjoy your last days of the semester as one by one they will continue to move on by and the time you have with your friends and as an undergrad will rapidly pass through. Breaking up the moments of stress and cramming will keep your mind functioning and capable of functioning more than you ever knew it could. The end of the semester isn’t the end of the world. Your health and livelihood are still more important than anything else, but there are ways to ease the stressors and tensions of impending deadlines and daunting tests.
